about

Composed for Sacred Bones Records and Empty Bottle present Mort
Garson’s 1976 album Mother Earth’s Plantasia at the Garfield Park
Conservatory in Chicago. Aitis Band’s response to Garson’s Ode to an
African Violet is a hypnotic intervention. The session begins as the
song ends. Guaranteed of "a lot of fun", the subject passes the point
of no return and disappears.

lyrics

Hypnosis is not mind control
I cannot make anybody do anything they do not want to do
Including volunteer to be hypnotized
Is it OK if I hypnotize you?
Whatever you decide to do it is an allowing
Shhh
Let's say I set you up and there were aliens outside
An alien ship has landed outside
You saw them abducting people or something like that
And I ask you to share
explain what you described
You would begin to react as if you really did see that out there
If you allow yourself to go there with me, OK
Are you ready to get started?
I ask you to allow yourself to focus on the background music
Become aware of it
If you weren't aware of that music before
Become aware of that music
We're going to start the abduction
That time period of taking you down into hypnosis
It's slowing down your brain waves
So we'll be a little slow, a little quiet
but after we get going
we'll start having a lot of fun

about

Record Label Chicago, Illinois

I started Record Label in 1999 as a way to release my own music. Soon I was releasing records by friends Chin Up Chin Up and Joan of Arc, and was distributed by Touch & Go for about a week before they went out of business. Shortly after I put Record Label on hiatus.

In 2021 'record label' has partnered up with Joyful Noise Recordings and Secretly Canadian Distribution.
